About KSBTC

The Kerala State Blood Transfusion Council (KSBTC) is the apex body under the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Kerala, responsible for regulating, standardizing, and promoting safe and quality-assured blood transfusion services across the state. Established in line with the directives of the National Blood Policy, KSBTC works to ensure an efficient, accessible, and voluntary blood donation system. KSBTC oversees the functioning of government and private blood banks in Kerala, facilitates the implementation of national guidelines, and coordinates awareness campaigns to encourage voluntary blood donation. The council plays a key role in capacity building, policy development, quality control, and the promotion of component separation and rational use of blood.
